President’s Report

For 73 years the Collector Memorial Hall has been a focal point for the village, a place for community meetings, significant celebrations, a place to build resilience and to strengthen social relationships.

After the summer bushfire events of 2019 /2020 it became increasingly evident that, as an evacuation centre for the village and surrounding area, the Hall was not fit for purpose. With funds provided, in June 2021, through the Bushfire Low Economic Fund (BLERF), jointly funded by the Federal and NSW Governments, the committee set about providing the community with an energy efficient, sustainable, safe, compliant, accessible emergency recovery space.

This project, improve the emergency features of the Collector Memorial Hall, has been achieved through hard work and commitment.  The Committee is an amazing team of talented volunteers each of whom is willing to use their talents and skills for the good of the community.

The Committee acknowledge and thank the Federal and State Government for their support and acknowledge the enormous positive impact their funding has made and will continue to make on this small community well into the future. We also acknowledge and say thank you to the Trust and 355 Ratch Collector Windfarm Funds for their significant contribution to the success of the project.
